Woven Sari Circle Pouch
This gorgeously-textured pouch is the perfect size for coins, hand sanitizer, lip balm and other tiny treasures you’d like to keep close at hand. It features multi-color rows of woven sari pieces on the front and back, measures 4” in diameter, and has a colorful zip closure. It also includes a clip so it can easily attach to keychains, lanyards and larger bags. The bright rows of color and assortment of zipper colors look amazing grouped together, and create a gorgeous display.
Talented women artisans craft these pouches from sari's and other leftover material that's been discarded from local factories. They wash, dry and cut the fabrics so they can be woven on a 100-year-old manual loom. The woven pieces are then sewn into this beautiful pouch. Colors and patterns are all one-of-a-kind and will vary. They're sustainably handmade with love by artisans in Nepal, working in a cooperative founded by Nasreen Sheikh, a former child sweatshop laborer who overcame amazing odds to become an international human rights advocate.
